A market is a country and a language

Mentova measures your visibility market by market. A market pairs a country with a language: Belgium · French, Belgium · Dutch, France · French.

  • Belgium · French and Belgium · Dutch are two markets: a Dutch speaker does not ask the same questions as a French speaker.
  • Belgium · French and France · French are two markets as well, even though they share a language: an assistant that searches the web cites Belgian sources when asked a Belgian question, and so recommends different companies.

The first market in the list is your primary market: it carries the language of your website. Each market has its own topics and its own questions, and its results are computed separately.

Multilingual tracking is included in every paid plan: an extra market costs nothing in itself. What costs is the questions asked, already counted in credits.

If your account goes back to a single allowed market (when a subscription ends, for instance), your existing markets stay: you can still remove one or change their order — only adding a new market is blocked.

You pick your markets in the Market step of onboarding, then in Settings > Brand.

Questions are never translated

To measure a new market, open the menu of a topic on the Prompts page and choose Duplicate to another market. Mentova rewrites the questions for that market, in its language and for its country — it does not translate them.

Why: a Dutch speaker does not type the translation of what a French speaker types — neither the same words nor the same intent. Translating would produce questions nobody asks, and measure a market that does not exist.

Duplicating counts as a prompt regeneration: it is available from the STARTER plan and uses one of your account's three daily regenerations.

The depth warning

Your credits are shared across your markets. Two markets on the same budget each receive roughly half as many questions as one.

Mentova computes, from your actual setup (credits, selected models, analysis frequency, number of markets), how many questions each market receives:

questions per market = min(prompts per campaign, credits ÷ (slots × analyses per month × markets))

Below 10 questions per market, a warning appears: at that depth the competitor ranking changes from one measurement to the next, and a percentage computed on five answers looks exactly like one computed on fifty. That threshold is a cautious estimate, not an exact measurement.

When a higher plan would really give each market more questions, the screen suggests it; otherwise it advises focusing on fewer markets.

Reading results by market

  • The Market filter appears on the Dashboard and on the Visibility, Prompts and AI models pages as soon as you track several markets (?market=BE-nl in the address).
  • The Your markets side by side card, on the Visibility page, compares your markets on one page — each measured on its own questions, with no combined score.
  • The One of your markets is falling behind alert (from STARTER) tells you when your visibility in one market drops well below your all-markets average. See Alerts.
