Opportunities are prompts (or angles within a topic) where at least one competitor was mentioned by an AI model, but your brand was not. Each opportunity represents a concrete gap where you could gain visibility.

Opportunity data is generated for every plan. On FREE and STARTER, the page shows a preview of the first few items; full access is available on PRO and above.

Priority scoring

Each opportunity has a priority score from 0 to 100, calculated from:

  • How many competitors appeared (more competitors = higher priority).
  • How often the prompt fires (higher frequency = higher signal).
  • Whether a quick-win angle is available.

Opportunities marked Quick win are ones where a relatively small action (such as submitting to a directory or writing a short post) could close the gap quickly.

Opportunity detail

Click any opportunity card to see:

  • The specific prompts that triggered it.
  • Which competitors appeared and how often.
  • A gap analysis listing the sources (websites) where competitors are present but your brand is not.
  • Why you're not appearing - a structured explanation based on source analysis.
  • Suggested angles - a checklist of concrete actions (content formats, platform types) that could help you appear in future responses for this prompt.

Lifecycle workflow

Each opportunity moves through four stages that you update manually as you work on it:

StageMeaning
ActiveNewly detected gap; not yet worked on.
In progressYou are actively creating content or taking action.
MonitoringAction taken; waiting to see if visibility improves.
ResolvedYour brand now consistently appears; gap is closed.

Update the stage from the opportunity detail page or the action menu on the card.

Acting on an opportunity

From the detail page you can:

  1. Review the suggested angles and mark individual ones as In progress or Tried.
  2. Click Generate content to open the Content Engine pre-filled with the opportunity context (PRO and above).
  3. Link a published URL once your content is live, so Mentova can track whether it gets cited.

Tip: Sort by Priority score to focus on the highest-impact gaps first, or filter by Quick wins for fast, low-effort improvements.
