Beta. The Products section is recent and may still change.

When someone asks an AI "which coffee maker should I buy?", it names products, not only brands. Mentova measures whether yours are among them.

The Products section shows up in the sidebar for an e-commerce brand (detected when your site is analysed, or ticked in Settings → Brand) or as soon as a product is tracked. It is included from the Starter plan; the number of tracked products depends on the plan (10, 50, 200, 1,000). On a read-only account you can browse the data but no longer import or edit.

Import your catalog

In Products → Catalog, four methods:

  1. Shopify: paste your store address, Mentova reads its public catalog.
  2. WooCommerce: same idea, through your store's public products API.
  3. CSV file: up to 2 MB, checked before upload.
  4. Manual add: one product at a time.

A brand has one store per type: importing a different Shopify (or WooCommerce) address replaces the previous one. Every night at 04:30 UTC Mentova re-reads your store; CSV files and manual additions are never re-read. A product added by hand with the same name as a store product is linked to it: from then on it follows the store (a rename there is picked up, with no duplicate). An empty field in the store never erases an image, address or price already known.

Common refusals

  • Store not found or protected (password page, access denied): make the catalog public, or use the CSV.
  • "Your store's products API is not public" (WooCommerce): re-enable it in your store, or import a CSV.
  • Empty catalog: the store publishes no product.
  • Cap reached: products beyond your plan's limit are imported but not tracked, and the screen says so. Nothing is dropped silently.

Product questions

Mentova generates product questions ("best product for…", comparisons) next to your brand questions. They are measured like the others, in every analysis. Product names are read in the answer text and matched against your catalog; when a match is ambiguous there is no match rather than a wrong one, and a similar name is never linked to one of your products when the answer attributes it to another brand. Generating product questions uses the same allowance as generating a theme's questions: 3 generations per day for the account.

Read the overview

  • Your products: the citation rate of your tracked products. A product never cited shows 0 (that is a measurement); a product not yet measured shows "—".
  • Cited products: the products AIs name most, yours and competitors'.
  • Discovered: products cited but missing from your catalog, which you can track. An unknown product only appears from 2 answers that name it.
  • Product page: per AI, who comes ahead, associated brands and sites.

The period (7, 30 or 90 days) and market filters apply to the whole section.

Limits

  • 90 days maximum: answer data is kept for 90 days, there is no longer history.
  • Text, not product cards: Mentova measures what AIs write. The product cards (photo, price) of the ChatGPT or Gemini apps are not available through the API and are not measured. Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode are not counted in the Products section, since products are not read on those answers.
  • Images: they come from your catalog or the cited product page, never from the AIs; without an image the brand logo or initials are shown.
  • Two answers minimum for an unknown product to appear.
  • 500 products from other brands at most per brand (competitors and untracked, hidden ones included).
