The Competitors page shows every brand that AI models mentioned alongside (or instead of) your brand across all campaigns. Mentova detects competitors automatically from response text - no manual list required.

The leaderboard

The main view is a ranked leaderboard of all detected competitors. For each competitor you see:

  • Mention rate - the percentage of prompts where that brand appeared.
  • Share of voice - their share of total brand mentions.
  • A bar indicating their relative strength vs. your brand.

Click any row to expand it and see a per-model breakdown, or click the competitor's name to open the full head-to-head comparison.

Summary stats at the top show the total number of tracked competitors, your own mention rate, and the top competitor's name and mention rate.

Head-to-head comparison

Click a competitor's name in the leaderboard to open the comparison page (/dashboard/[brandId]/competitors/[competitorId]). This view places your brand and the selected competitor side by side, showing:

  • Mention rate and share of voice for each.
  • A model-by-model breakdown so you can see which AI assistants favour the competitor.
  • The prompts where you win, where they win, and where neither appears.

Use this view to understand why a competitor outranks you on specific models or topics.

You can also reach it directly from the sidebar: Competitors › Head to head lists every comparable competitor and lets you pick one, without going through the leaderboard first.

Their sources

Competitors › Their sources (sidebar) shows the sites AIs read to cite your 5 most-cited competitors in those sources, where your brand doesn't appear. It's the same underlying data as "Your priorities" on the Sources page, seen from the competitors angle rather than the sources angle.

Competitor suggestions

When Mentova detects that the same brand appears under multiple names (e.g. "HubSpot" and "Hubspot CRM"), it surfaces a merge suggestion on Competitors › New entrants. Accept the suggestion to combine their stats, or dismiss it if they are genuinely different entities.

Managing competitors

Open a leaderboard row's ⋯ menu to access management options:

  • Edit domain - link a domain to the competitor so their logo appears and sources analysis can match them. Auto-detection deliberately leaves this field empty when it can't verify a domain — you can fill it in here, or from the head-to-head comparison page (under the competitor's name). Paste the address in any form (https://example.com/page becomes example.com); clear the field to remove a wrong domain.
  • Merge with… - combine two entries that refer to the same brand.
  • Hide - remove a competitor from the leaderboard (hidden competitors still accumulate data; you can unhide them later).

Tip: Use the export menu (top-right) to download your full competitor data as CSV. Export is available on PRO and above.
